The origins of Estancia Ongamira date back to the late 16th Century, founded by the Spanish Conquistadores, whom by orders of the King of Spain built the Chapel of St Joseph to pacify and evangelize the Comechingones tribes of the area.

Since 1926 Estancia Ongamira has been a family owned and operated business, which began as a cattle ranch and family retreat. The original homestead has been recently renovated and is now a hotel and restaurant of international standards.

Estancia Ongamira is also an ideal place for business functions, weddings and corporate events.
